Bicyclette Artshow Goes Hard

Bicyclette Artshow was a huge success. Featured artists were Cody Lanphier, Kristopher Kanaly (two hellkat brethren) and Kim Rice. Boneshakers had their bikes in the show as well did the recently kick ass OKC Bike Polo Team.

The homey Adam is about to launch the one and only bike courier service in Oklahoma. Geared around being environmentally friendly, the OKC courrier service will be servicing downtown and midtown OKC (from what I remember). I’m sure he will have no problem finding willing bodies to cary packages across town, after all, who wouldn’t want to say “Yo dood, I’m not a poser, I’m a real messenger gotdamnit!”. We wish him the best of luck with his new biz, hopefully they will get to branch off to Tulsa as well before too long.

Indoor Bike Polo Sunday!

Yes folks! Oklahoma will be hosting its first hardcourt bike polo event this Sunday. Best of all, Ren at The Hub gave us the OK to play indoors at the Hub warehouse! Which will be nice, my forecast widget is telling me it will be 21˚ Sunday.

Be here around 4pm. Bring a bike (beaters are preferred).

Biker Fox Arrested! Tulsa’s very own internet celebrity was obtained after getting his ass kicked and choked out by some meat-head officer. Rather you believe the media’s side of the story, or Biker Foxes, our support naturally is unconditionally for our man Biker Fox. If he really didn’t throw his bike at the officer… I wish he would of! If you ride a bike much in Tulsa, you more than likely have gotten some ridiculous ticket from some dick-head cop (the idea that the TPD ‘has it out’ for BF probably stems from more than just delusional paranoia). I can’t imagine the egotist jack asses patrolling South Tulsa have anything better to do than pursue things that are incommensurable to their own narrow minded world view. So fellow cyclist know your rights! I’ve considered keeping a print out of our city ordinances in my bag. I was once pulled over by an officer who thought it was illegal to ride my bike in the road, and instructed me to ride on the sidewalk (which is actually illegal)… of course after running my license, patting me down, searching my bag and temporarily hand cuffing me. But this isn’t about me, its about our good friend Biker Fox. Good luck to ya homey, keep doing what your doing and don’t let the man get you down!

Okay, so yeah, maybe we don’t ever really post anything on this site… and maybe its just sitting out here gathering interweb dust… and maybe no one on the face of the planet actually looks at this site other than spam-bots (who look at this site quite a bit). But we have a web-site damnit… not only do we have a website but we have a blog… that automatically signs us up for responsibility. We created this little world and what kind of heartless creators would we be to let just abandon it and let it die a unjust death. Not us, oh no… not the @hellkats, Damnit! Salvation has come. The poor characters being held captive in the shadowy pits of sql shall no longer go unappreciated. We (I) pledge to revive the long forgotten past-time of blogging about our bike gang. There is plenty going on, plenty to say… just someone (me) needs to get off their(my) lazy ass and type up words about it. So without further ado some news worthy information.
I just recently moved back to Tulsa from LA and getting my feelers out into the bicycle community again. I accomplished this feat by going to Sound Pony and drinking beer. Anyways, I met a girl named Ren who just moved back from Chicago and she was in the process of putting together a Bike Kitchen style co-op called the Tulsa Hub. AWESOME! She told me where it was, at this old failed venue on Elgin which is basically a huge old ware house… she showed me around the place and already has an amazing collection of bikes. Bikes for riding and bikes for chopping up =D. She said if I didn’t mind clearing out and organizing a few things, we could also play some indoor bike polo in the space, AWESOME! So as soon as I get my polo gear back from LA, I will be organizing Tulsa’s first bike polo turny. I also plan on being a fixture in this new Tulsa haven and assisting in any way possible.

As many of you know, Adam was seriously hurt last weekend, it seems after someone accidentally spilled some water on Gizmo, gremlins hatched and soon later threw our man face-first over the side of 10th street bridge onto I-44. Sorry, really this is really no laughing matter, he’s in very much pain and we are truly lucky we didn’t lose him. The good news is besides from some broken bones, he’s going to be able to fully recover, the doctor said “Everything that was broke can be fixed…” which is really good news. This site is raising some money for him and his wife Emily to help get them through it. Lets wish him luck as he is getting surgery on his face.
